Welcome to the website of the Ligurian Psychologists Association.
First, we would like to introduce to you our professional profile and the role of our Association: the profession of psychologist comprehends the use of cognitive instruments and interventions in the areas of prevention, diagnosis, habilitation-rehabilitation and support within the psychological field in favour of individuals, groups, social organisms and the community. It also includes experimentation, research and didactic activities within the same field.
A qualifying State examination in psychology must be passed and the enrolment of the appropriate professional Register is necessary to practise psychology. Graduates in psychology may be admitted to the State examination if in possession of adequate proof of training.
In particular, the practise of psycho-therapy is subordinate to a specific professional formation, to be acquired after graduating in psychology or in medicine and surgery through specialisation courses of at least 4 years, providing adequate formation and training in psycho-therapy, held in schools of university specialisation or in recognised institutes. The members enrolled on the Register of psychologists are subject to the discipline determined in articles 622 of the penal code and constitute the Association of Psychologists.
The tool you are now visiting is open to everyone. However, people admitted to the Association have the opportunity to log-in with their own user-name and password, having thus access to a reserved area which offers different applications. First of all, it provides an Electronic Mail Service, through which users may send and receive messages; moreover, it permits access to various matters, such as private documents and circular letters.
"Logged-in users" have also a different modality of entering the single parts of the site: clicking on each button, normal users have access only to superficial levels of the information, whereas logged-in users may accede to most of the content of the sub-area chosen.
In its wider organization, the site is composed of the following buttons:
- "Association" (L'Ordine), referring to information about the Direction of the Association and about the Psychologists' Register. The former includes: tips about the different committees and the working groups which have been activated up to now, the dates of future meetings, the minutes of past meetings, the resolutions taken, the budget and the Council policy. The latter gathers together all the psychologists who take part in the Association and gives the opportunity to search a psychologist, finding out the information desired.
- "The Profession of Psychologist" (Professione Psicologo), which includes all the information regarding the profession (e.g.: competitions, job facilities, contexts where psychologists may be needed, etc.).
- "Rules and Laws" (Normativa), concerning recent directives (including advertising regulations) and the Code of Conduct.
- "Secretary's office" (Segreteria), which explains how to do things strictly related to the profession (e.g.: how to be admitted to the profession, how to cancel from the Association, how to obtain legal or fiscal advice, etc.).
- "Links" (Links), from which you can get to various sites related to psychology or anyhow of a certain interest for the profession.
- "News" (News e Newsletter), containing all the most recent news reports.
- "News Bulletin" (Psicologia e Psicologi in Liguria), the journal edited by the Direction
